CANNOT PLAY PREVIEW

Yesterday I created a video in Sony Vegas. I could click on the play button and watch it in my preview window. Today, I open the same file. I click the play button and it will NOT play!!! It just sits there and does nothing. I can open a different file and it plays just fine. Then I come back to the one I really want to work on and it will NOT play!!!

What is WRONG??? This is nuts!!!

P.S. I cannot believe all the junk I just had to go through to register to post this question. Good grief!!!!

The time you spent registering will come back to you in benefits on this board, maybe just not with my help in this post...

Sounds like an odd one. Some thoughts and questions to at least try to figure it out...

- Are the file that now works and the one that doesn't of the same format, from the same source?
- Did you install or change anything that might have messed with your codecs for the particular file format?
- Do you see a black screen in the preview? Anything else?
- Does the cursor move along the timeline on your tracks, or does it stay still?
