Try "Tools", "Render to New Track" and select mpg1 as file format. The file for the new track should be saved as an mpg1 file, in the directory of your choice. Works for me, as recently as this afternoon. Worth a try.

Thanks Jack, I'll try that tonight.

Jack: I just tried your idea, and it doesn't work for me. It's the same story - when I click on Save the dialog box just sits there; nothing happens.

Any idea of what's wrong?

Have you done this successfully before?

The first time you use the Main Concept encoders in Vegas they need registering, but normally a window pops up to tell you about this,

O.K. You've jogged my memory. I had something similar to this happen when I first started using Vegas. It turned out that the box in the lower left corner of the save window was checked for "Render Region" and, of course, I had not selected a region so nothing happened.

I didn't notice the checked box, but reasoned that maybe the time line had to be selected before you could render. So I double clicked the time line -- thereby creating a region -- and everything rendered fine.

Take a look at the "Render Region" box and de-select it. See if that does the trick.

Thanks for your feedback.

No, loop region is not checked, nor has there been any window requiring registration of mainconcept.
