cannot save audio edited in soundforge

I cannot edit a soundfile from an EX1 mp4 clip on the timeline I opened in Soundforge. I get this message:

"an error occured while saving one or more files - no template was specified".

It used to work in older versions, is there anything I need to do to make in work in V12? Also wondering why Soundforge imports video thumbnails with the audio. Did it always do that?

I just tried doing it in Pro 12 (right-click and choose "open copy in Sound Forge) and it worked for me with an mp4 file from my JVC HM-750.
SF is version 10, build 506.

If you are trying to use Soundforge to edit the clip that's opened in Vegas, check if you have the Preference setting "Close media file when not the active application" unchecked. By checking this you tell Vegas to close media files (make them off-line) while you are running another program. When you return focus to Vegas it will re-open your off-line media files and pick up the changes you made externally.

Thanks Mike and Gary,

strangely enough I had that option ticked all the time, but it only works when I open the soundfile "as a copy", whereas I was sure I always just did "open in Soundforge".

But I can get on with my work now, thanks again.
