What operating system are you using? Blu-ray uses the UDF 2.5 file system, which Win XP doesn't have.

Otherwise you need a decoder to suite the Blu-ray video you made. What coder did you use?

I have Windows 7 64 bit home premium in an i-7 quad core 12 gig PC with an LG Blue-ray writer. The first disc I ever made used Vegas MS 10 platinum and I used DVDA 5.0 build 128 to author the disc. The original files came from my new HX9V camera as 1080 60 P files. On a blue-ray player the video is spectacular but would like my LG writer to play these discs on the PC. I know nothing about the ins and outs of files being merely a novice who wants home videos in HD. Thanks

Microsoft does not support the playing of BD with WMP. See their statement here.

You will need to use a different player than WMP if you want to view your Bluray discs on your PC.

We have come full circle with my original question: What is that player that will do this? That's what I want to know. thanks

There are several commercial options - Cyberlink PowerDVD and Corel WinDVD are the two that immediately spring to mind but there are probably several more.

Yup, a quick google search finds lots of them, including a comparative review here which may give you the answers you require.

If you are choosing between Cyberlink PowerDVD and Corel WinDVD, then I would recommend PowerDVD. I found it played some file types properly that the other wouldn't. I forget the details now.
