Canon 1DX HEVC files not importing correctly

Hi,

Please help/advise

I'm trying to import a video file from a 1DX camera but the colors are all wrong and I don't know why. According to specs Movie Studio supports HEVC/h.265 files but this is what is happening to me:

I'll send Media Info if that helps solve this.

Appreciate any help.

That is not normal for common HEVC.
Hard to tell you what the reason is because we know nothing about your used hardware/ location of the files/ projectproperties/and so on.
Look here how to provide the needed info: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/important-information-required-to-help-you--110457/
I you are able to upload a small file to a cloudservice from where we can download that file unharmed and look how the file behaves on our installations, is that maybe a big help.

Hi,

I've made some tests today with the same camera, you can access those files here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CfthVyWfH4TiqCnj6wH1i379s-67ZRWg

I've tried with different compressions but the result is the same. Here you can see at left how the image should look playing in VLC and at right how it looks inside Movie Studio 16.

I'm using Movie Studio 16 Platinum (Build 175) on Windows 7 64bit. This only happens with files produced with this particular camera using HEVC. Everything works perfectly with other cameras on MOV or MP4.
Please, help.

Did you previously have an earlier build of VMS16 such as Build 142 and if so did this handle the files correctly? I ask because you are using Win 7 and the latest builds need Win 10. Whilst the recent builds will work with Win 7 not everything will perform correctly.

No. My previous version was VMS15 which I didn't use that much because it was problematic (crashed a lot) so instead I've been using VMS14. Just recently I've updated to VMS16 and everything was working fine, and still is, until someone send me this HEVC files. I already converted this files to h.264 codec so I can edit this work. But there's something wrong somewhere and I would like to know what so I can fix it in the future. I'll try to install VMS16 in a Win 10 machine and see if that works.

Thanks.

Has anyone tried my files above? Does it happen to you?

I've tested on Win 10 but the same thing is happen. I start to think this is a bug but no one is reporting it. The chances of someone is using files from a $7k camera on Movie Studio are residual perhaps.

Just tried it in Vegas Pro 17 (build 421) and that crashes when I try to load your video. Windows 10 Films & TV and Media Player won't play it. But VLC plays it correctly.

When I load the file on laptop or desktop I think that I see the same as OP: a green and a blue band that should not be there, while it plays well (I think) in VLC player.
