Canon HV30 price drop at B&H

I got my new HV30 from B&H on tuesday night. I paid $699 including shipping, today they dropped the price to $625. I called them up and they are going to refund me the difference, another good reason to shop at B&H.

Best on such patterns (price drops) I would speculate that the replacement is going to be announced shortly.

I wish they would drop the price on the XH A1. ;-)

Maybe now that the XH A1s is slated for December release...

If your a cheap bastard like me you can find refurb HV20 for around $430 in like new condition. I just got one from eCost and ZipZoomFly has a similar deal.

I can't see Canon introducing another high-end, consumer, taped-based camcorder model. But you never know. Look at the 5D MK II. It snuck up on everybody. Maybe Canon is looking at a Digital Rebel level SLR that does 1080i 30 p video. Positioned in the Nikon D90 range, but with the video done right.
