Hi Guys,

would value some advice.

I have used for the last few years a Canon MD101 dv cassette camcorder which has served me well. I'm doing a piece of video that I shot in India and it has taken me hours to fire wire everything plus the joys of stuttering and so I have decided to upgrade (abit) as money is tight. I have been recommended the

canon legria fs200

and I'd like to know the following.

I am not looking for a HD camcorder because of price and an older laptop.

Is this any good for a standard sd camcorder. Are there any competitors I should look at ?
Can I just copy the files from the SD card and put them straight into vegas movie studio or do I have to convert them. Not too sure how all that works.
