canon MVI 720 P clips

Hi all,
I'm wondering...I'm using Vegas 8 pro and when I import Canon HD video (from a SD780) the audio is there but the video is just black. Is there something I'm missing, like a codec?

I can view the video in real player or quicktime being the video is a MVI file.

any help would be appreciated.

I just looked at my QT player and it's 7.6.6

I think it claims to use some H.264 whatever that is.

Isn't the version I'm using later than 7.6.2? dropping the MOV file into vegas just shows a black frame although the audio is heard.

Yes, go back a couple of levels. Search my posts about 1-2 weeks ago this was discussed, with links to download the right version.

Yes, and that's the reason you need to go back to 7.6.2 OR EARLIER.
You will also need to roll back to iTunes 8.
