Canon XH A1 24F capture in Vegas 7? Working yet?

I read an old thread claiming that Vegas (6?) did not recognize the XH A1, and that 24F capture had to be done by an external app. Was this an OS driver or codec issue? Not much was resolved...

I'm close to purchasing the XH A1 -- sorry, Sony, I had to pass on the HDR-FX1/-FX7 choices; I really need those XLRs -- but don't wish to rely on external capture utilities. Vegas 7 is very nice, and I wish to use all its features without double-clutching the video capture.

Has any Vegas user succeeded in live-capturing or downloading from the XH A1 in 24F mode?

Thanks!

... so, that's a yes? May I ask whether you used any unusual Vegas settings for the 24F capture? Did you use the default capture app VidCap60.exe?

just captured through vegas 7 as HDV and vegas does the rest! That's why I love it! I then edited in an HDV 24p timeline...

Vegas 6 works fine with the XHA1. You have to use the HDV capture utility rather than the regular DV capture, but it works with 24F just fine.
