Bob, The files are Vegas compatible, but Vegas can't utilize the capture card.
Mike Downey, one of our VASST trainers, is playing with this and Vegas together, works great in terms of capturing with Edius, sending the files to Vegas, editing in Vegas, spitting back out to the Canopus codec, and then printing via the Edius.
Mike's also been working with the HDBX1000 device, and I'll tell you....the Vegas edited stuff looks great.
I don't think they're shipping this yet, from what Mike has sent me, it's all Beta thus far. I might be wrong though.

Where is Vegas mentioned? My eyesight is failing in my old age so I might have missed it, but I didn't see Vegas mentioned once on the canapus website for this product.

Please prove me wrong.

Under 422 machine control, that in itself is only moderately useful though as there's plenty of boxes that'll do the same thing.
The rest of it is fairly interesting and what SPOT says pretty much clarifies it for me.
Still waiting for Black Magic and/or Bluefish cards to run with Vegas.
We have our HDV camera on order but what we need is a way to ingest HDV and go out to both HDCAM and SD 4:2:2.
This MAY become a redundant need if broadcasters decide to accept content in HDV rather than HD but certainly inititaly I don't see this happening. Yes I'm very much aware that HDV is NOT HDCAM or even close to it but the market here is desparate for HD content and so long as it 'looks' like HD they'll buy it for sure. Being able to sell budget shot HDV content on HDCAM will be very attractive. Not looking at doing this so much ourselves as providing a facility for others to use.

Any updates on this?
Having seen Edius Pro running on this hardware, it looks pretty good, I know I keep on nagging about this end of the game and sorry if I'm boring the pants off the rest of you guys.
I'm still trying to workout where we should think about spending our dollars, an Edius Pro system but with Vegas also running on it or really hit the bank manager hard for an XPRI.
Also it's time for a new PC and the Canopus guys seem to like the SuperMicro mobos with the new Xeon CPUs on them, guess if I buy the system it'll get Vegas humming along real nicely and then I can wait and see what comes along around NAB time.
