I've got a sony TRV-240 Digital 8, and I'm trying to capture video using vegas video capture, from my S-vhs Deck, going through the TRV-240, via the SVHS jack & the audio connection cable on the camera, then to the pc via firewire. Basicly I'm trying to use the camera as a "through" device, trying not to have to make a dub to the camera 1st before capturing to the pc.
My problem is that Vegas wants to take control of the deck functions, and if there is no tape for it to control in the camera, it won't start capture. The salesman I bought the camera from , said that this one one of the nice features of the camera, but so far, I can't firgure it out, and I feel it's probably a Vega issue since its the program that won't capture unless it "see's " the camera playing the tape.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
