What info do you need?

It's just a missing or wrong codec.

Where did the video come from?
What is the file extension?
What are the video and audio encoders used?

There is much more information that might be relevant. However, this will get you started towards an answer. Right-click on the event, click Properties->General. Or you can use a utility like MediaInfo.

How do I check that or get it back

OK, I downloaded the codec. Now what? Does it automatically bring the sound back? Does it require me to reprocess the video?
ritsmer wrote on 6/8/2009, 3:59 AM
When the codes is installed it works when VMS reads the media. So, yes, you have to reprocess.

How do you reprocess?

I don't think 'reprocessing' is necessary. Close Vegas, then open it and load your project again. If Vegas can use the new codec then the audio will be there. If not, it's either not the right codec, or it's one that Vegas doesn't understand.

If the OP would provide a little basic information, such as the origin of the files, their extension, and the video and audio encoders, it might be possible to give him some specific suggestions or choices.

As to 'reprocessing' then: if the video is rendered without the proper codec (=without sound or without video) then 'reprocessing' (re-rendering) is necessary .
