I was opening my video project file on vegas 11 and it says an error occured while loading a project file,the file is an unsupported format.The problem is i already renamed the backup file from bak to veg hoping to fix the error as i saw on youtube but it didnt help at all and its still the same problem.I was working hard on the video so please help ;;;
Make sure you have visible file extensions before you attempt to rename the file.
If you rename without doing this you'll have 'filename.veg.veg.bak' with 'veg.bak' being the actual extension.
i renamed it properly but it doesnt work, thanks anyway
You could look for an "autosave" or "restored" copy
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\11.0
i tried that too but unfortunately i dont have autosaved or restored file of the project
You could post a copy of the original veg and the backup veg (no media) for download. Maybe someone here would take a crack at opening it.
i have original but i also renamed backup veg and its media file now :( oh well i will start all over agan, i think i will be more careful next time and save the file more times with different names so i wont lose everything on one

I always do Save AND Save As everytime, and make several steps of save. The VEG project files are small and easy to handle.
