I downloaded the net software from Microsoft but get an error message whenever I try to run a script--Any ideas? (error message: can't initialize script)
Can you send us the entire error message word for word? We need this to help pinpoint the problem. Also, are you still running the beta version? Some things related to this were fixed for the final release.
4.0 and Windows XP Pro--its really wierd. Could you give me a link with the name of and page where the file resides--Maybe I downloaded the wrong file.
I had exactly same problem. Yesterday I used some scripts in Vegas 4 which worked fine. Today any script gave me same error message as you mentioned above.
I downloaded and installed .NET Framework once again, but without any success.
Then I had an idea:
This morning I deinstalled Vegas 4 Beta (yes, I deinstalled the Beta version AFTER I installed the Final Release) ...
It looks like the deinstallation of the Beta version destroyed any kind of interface between Vegas 4 and Net Framework.
So I installed Vegas 4 once anew and from then on every script works fine again.
Once you have installed the .NET framework you should be OK but it sounds like there could be a bug which we'll be looking into. In the mean time, Please try reinstalling Vegas.
Sorry Sonic---I am running 4.0 final release-----I went to the page you mentioned but it only showed Vegas scripts for download, not the net framework?
There is another tack here. I have three computers all with win2k pro
sp3 and all latest stuff. Downloaded the .net sp-1 and sp2 no problem
and installed in computer 1 and 2. On 3 sp-1 would install but would
not work. The two icons in the control panel were 4 bytes short when
compared to computers 1 &2. Cleaned it out three times and downloaded
three times and installed three times and still would not work. Have
not found the problem yet. Don't even know where to look on this one.
