Capture Breaking up Clips.

Scene Detect off, Capture limits (in 2 locations) are not checked.

XP, 2.8, 512 60 gig laptop. Have not tried reinstall yet.

Any other suggestions?

are your drives NTFS? If not, the capture would be segmented due to FAT32 files size limits.

You know, I didn't check that.

I just assumed an XP machine churned out in the last few months would be NTFS.

I will take a look tomorrow and let you know.

Have you checked for programs running in the background? Anything installed recently that might be loading memory resident on startup by default?
