Capture does nothing

Hi All,

When I press the Capture button, I get nothing.

If I try & capture with Windows MMaker, there is no problem. But for whatever reason VV4 does not seem to want to capture from my DV (JVC/Firewire).
Any ideas?? From what I can tell the Video preferences are set up correctly. Capture Program is (C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Vegas 4.0\VidCap40.EXE).

I thought I could capture in MM & then send the file over to VV for editing but when I do this VV does not recognise the sound in the file??

What The??

Thanks for your help.

Hi happi,
I had your problem...but after a long research :) I was able to find out the solution.
Here it is:

From the Options menu (of Video Capture), choose Preferences.
Click the Capture tab.
Clear the Enable DV scene detection check box.
Clear the Minimum clip length check box.
Click Apply to apply your changes.
Click OK to close the Preferences dialog.
This is a quirk in the way our video capture utility works with PAL DV.
This issue should be fixed in a future update!!

bye
