Capture Error 0x800705aa

Sometimes when capturing using VV30c and press the stop button during a capture, I get the following error message window:

"An error occured while capturing from the device. Error 0x800705aa (message missing)"

I have a Canon XL1s connected to an Canopus ADVC-100 connected to my Adaptec 4300 (1394 card) in a Dell P4 1.6Ghz computer. When this happens, the file names in the folder I have designated in disk managment are named Clip1.avi, Clip2.avi, and so on. I don't get this all the time, but once every 4 or 5 times I capture.

Any ideas?

Ron

Why are you connecting the XL-1 through the ADVC-100? The XL-1 can connect via firewire directly to the computer allowing you to use the additional features such as Batch Capture.

Are you running Windows NT?
Or:
If you are running Windows XP, are you using an early version of Adaptec EZ-CD Creator? Or do you have Nero 5.5 and EZ-CD Creator BOTH installed?

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP1. I don't have Adaptec EZ-CD installed or Nero. I use another computer for that stuff.

As for connecting my XL1s through the ADVC-100, I don't know why I did that. I'll try one of the other 1394 ports on my computer.

I guess I was curious from Sofo, what the error message could mean.

Thanks,
Ron

In Windows XP it is a message which means that system resources are being maxed out from something. For example, Two DV Cameras at the same time probably wouldn't have sufficient resources because the OS can't supply the bandwidth necessary. Another example would be some sort of conflict which would sporadically or constantly max out the resources. Just having a lot of memory is not usually sufficient.
