Capture from a Mini Disc

Good evening,
I want to capture sound from a mini disc into Vegas 6.
I have the converter CANOPUS ADVC110 which have RCA in for sound and video, so I just plug the 2 RCA cable from the mini disc into the converter but the sound does not pass through. What could it be?
I noticed that with the same set up, but inserting a RCA cable from my video camera to the RCA in of the conveter I can hear the sound, but not ery powerful. Anyway it's strange.
What can I do? How do import soud only into Vegas?
Thank you

If your computer has a soundcard with a line in jack, just plug it in there.

I have a HI-MD minidisc and use Sony's SonicStage software. Extracts the microphone recordings onto the hard drive in .oma format, then there is an option to "Save As WAV". 44Khz 16-bit.

I haven't tried the PCM recording mode, so I don't know what the format is when extracted from the MD, probably WAV directly?

I still would like at least 48Khz out of it. I'm actually pretty dumb when it comes to it's capabilities, I got it to work for what I needed though.

I go the soundcard line-in route, so the Minidisc sends the audio out in analog format through the headphone socket, and my stereo miniplug (both ends) cable gets it into the PC.

Minidisc has been a very useful tool for me (recording the rear audio tracks for a surround mix), but it's a great example of how to ruin a promising format through copy restriction. Only in the past few years has Sony introduced a version (HiMD) that could be copied digitally and faster than realtime into the PC, but now the window of opportunity has passed. Everything is gradually going solid-state. BTW I still have and use my 3 Sharp MD-MT15 units, and they are great, but I, too, will go solid-state at some point.
