Capture issue using pass thru

Hello I am not able to capture when using my dv camcorder as a pass thru(digitizer ) for my analog camcorder. I have set the A/V to DV Out on my digital. Both are set to VCR. When I start the analog I do not see anything on the preview window on the capture page except when I switch back and forth between capture and advanced capture I see a very brief view of the video. So VMS is seeing the video but not displaying it .The play button nor the capture button light up. Note, I was able to capture using Windows Movie Maker. Has anyone else had this problem? thanks in advance.

had a similar episode. Have you tried firewire or USB? seems like my firewire would not work but USB did..

I contacted Sony and they had the solution .When using Video Capture with pass through choose Preferences from the Options menu and turn off the DV device control. If this is not done , the program will expect a tape to be inserted and will not pass through the analog signal. Maybe this will help someone in the future.
