Capture MiniDV with Date/Time as Filename

I am in the process of capturing my old MiniDV tapes to digital files and I love the ease of something like HDVSplit or WinDV, but for some reason I can't get them to work with my firewire card + camera right now. Vegas, however, seems to work fine. That being said, I love how WinDV will name the files it captures using the date/time of the video (for example, "2010-11-15_05.15").

How can I get Vegas to do the same? The only thing I've been able to get Vegas to do is capture using "Clip 001", "Clip 002", etc.

Thanks.

Ok, I see now what DVDate does...it only renames, it doesn't capture at all...I was getting a little frustrated with it there for a while :).

So, my Canon HV30 uses HDV and it seems like Vegas wants to capture in "m2t" format...any suggestions for date/timestamp with that format?

So, I'm slowly refreshing my memory on all of this old video :).

Basically, I have some DV (taken with my old Sony camera) and some HDV (taken with the HV30). It looks like WinDV will do the DV video fine and name the files with date/time like I want. HDVSplit WAS capturing the HDV files fine (and naming them the way I want), but now seems to have stopped recognizing the camera. That's where Vegas has come in for the HDV files, but, as I originally posted, it will only name them with a generic name.

SceneAlyzer Live captures and names by time and date.
It's no longer supported, but you can find copies of it if you look.
