Capture mode not detecting camera

I recently had XP re-installed on my PC. Tonight, I re-installed Vegas 6 and connected my DV camcorder via 1394 cable. Vegas does not see the device (no capture device).

I have never had a problem like this...any idea's?

Does your Windows detect the camera?

If not you would probably have to install some drivers, to get your 1394 card running.

If none of that fixes it, I've had this happen to me when the firewire jack on my camera went south ( could be on your card too ) do you have another camera to test? and another cable?
