Capture , Preference's Changing Time Code, Anomaly ?

Can someone check for me the following please.

In "Capture", "Preferences", "Capture". "Maximum Capture Length"
Of you put in 02:15:00;00 then apply do you get 02:15:00;02, also works with other times, 02:25:00;02, 01:05:00;02, 00:45:00;02

Want to know if the "00" frames changes to "02" for some reason, in other machines or there is a problem / fault with my setup

(My format is PAL)

Z - Yes, yes, yes and . . yes. I get the same. I tried other values with a ",00 " end and they didn't add the 2 frames . . I'm running WInXP Pro and V4.0d . . hmmm .. interesting. I don't use these settings at all. I leave them unchecked and greyed out so it doesn't bother me.

Q: How on Earth did you discover this? . . quite period for you? Happy New Year !

Panto season, so have done a 2 camera shoot, and need to capture the footage. Rather then stand about and watch (2.5 hours) I set the maximum duration and leave overnight to copy, that's when I noticed this strange quirk, thought I was going mad. Normally the frames has always been on 24 so not noticed till i set to zero.

Weird science! Do you think there is PAL rounding-up of frames/numbers? Can't be . . .

You've done a Panto thing? Oh no you haven't! . . . . . . hah!

This is because of DROP FRAME timecode. When you have the semi colons, it indicates drop frame. In drop frame, there is no even minute timecode except for every on the hour.

You can search on the web and read more about DROP FRAME vs. NON-DROP FRAME.

I thought drop frame was only for NTSC I am running in PAL 25fps, not with standing that, why would you want to drop frames ?

After some search.
"PAL and SECAM have only one kind of time code. It is similar to non-drop frame as it does not skip any numbers, but like drop frame it runs in real time."

I did try a DOT instead semi-colon, but changes back to the semi-colon.
