Robyn:

If you're still having problems with your capture, open Vegas..Go to Options...
Preferences...Video Device..Make sure in the Device Block it says OHCI Compliant
1394 DV. See if that helps. Then open your capture screen in Vegas and see if it
sees it. If it doesn't. recycle the power to your camera on and off. Maybe this will
help. I hope that it does. I know sometimes it's frustrating. Good luck, Robyn.

Dwuane: No, unfortunately, no.

Robyn: My XP Home OS will sometimes fail to see my camera and / or external drive. As Dwuane suggests, recycling camera and / or drive power will almost always activate "plug and play" recognition by XP. Any luck so far???

I've had times where, no matter how many reboots, XP just refuses to recognize my Sony DVMC-DA2 today. Tomorrow it will be fine. *sigh*. There never seems to be a problem recognizing my Panasonic PV-900 instantly every time though, even when it's having hissies over the Sony converter.

At work our computer service/tech department (basically me) says, "oh, that's just Windows being Windows".
