I have just come against a new Capture problem, which I think is probably easy to fix. If only I knew how. As I have told in previous posts I have been having problems with dropped frames when using CAPTURE with Vegas4. To get around this I have been using my old Vegas3 for capturing and then importing the files into Vegas4 and editing there, which has been working fine.
I started a new Project and went to CAPTURE in Vegas3 and immediately got a pop-up which said "The device "No Capture Device" could not be opened". I deleted that and saw "Preview Is Turned Off" in the Preview Window. I searched through all the OPTIONS and PREFERENCES and could find nothing that might apply to this. In fact I set them all to DEFAULT.
Then I Exited Vegas3 and Opened Vegas4 to see if I got the same problem. But no. It worked perfectly fine, except it was still dropping frames. I looked around for other things and clicked on VIDEO and got a drop down menu with
* Microsoft DV Camera & VCR (The * was actually a dot) which I clicked on, but that did nothing. The dot stayed there.
I went back to Vegas3 to see if that was the same. I clicked on VIDEO and the "Microsoft..........." was there but no dot. I tried clicking on it, but that also did nothing. THere must be a setting for that somewhere that I can't find.
Can anybody please help me.
Thank you
