Capture problems

Canon DV camera plugged into Firewire card. Device is detected, but keeps "disconnecting". When I hit reconnect to current device it does, but only for a second then I lose the preview again. When I actually hit the Capture Video button it will run to a count of about 00:00:05:14 then disconnect again. I hit reconnect and it runs the same distance then stops.

All capture parameters are set at defaults. What the heck is going on?

R U CApturing? Well, min clip length? What you got there? If you are a PAL - I am - I've got nothing .. I've got canon XM2s they work . . and a Pannie deck . .that works . .
