Capture problems

I taped one student at a time standing in front of a green screen with a GL2. After each student finished I paused the camera and another student would step in. Filmed 12 students this way. Camera never moved. Green screen never moved.

Open Vegas 6 and went to capture. Turned off capture audio (sign language class) and kept scene detection on.

Captured to an internal 200GB drive with 100GB free. Got 12 captured clips, no dropped frames. Alright!

Place them on the time line and each one is shortened both at the beginning and at the end by varying amounts, anywhere from 1 sec up to about 6 seconds. It is not consistent over all the clips.

So redid the capture and same thing happened. Again though, the amount lost at the beginning and ending of each clip would vary and was not the same from the first capture.

Turned scene detection off and recaptured. Got whole tape beginning to end with no loss of frames at the beginning or at the end or at points between them.

Never had this problem in V5. Am I missing a setting or something? (Which is very likely!!!!)

It is so much easier for me to have accurate scene detection as each scene will be dropped into a DVD menu.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Galen

There is a time delay setting in the cature options not starting the capture until 2 seconds passes. This is the default setting.

JJK,

Thanks for your suggestion. I checked that switch and it is not activated. So there should not have been any delays. Plus, the clips I got were shortened on either end by varying amounts.

Any help wold be appreciated.

Thanks,
Galen
