I am having some strange capture problems with the Panasonic MX500 I bought yesterday. I don't know if i am doing somethign wrong or if there is some sort of problem because I have never used the Vegas capture program before as I had a MicroMV camera that only has MPEG2.
I just can't seem to get capture to behave as I would expect. Occasionally I get a blocky preview screen and the image won't change even though the tape advances. Once the preview screen went black and I saw nothing on it. Capturing seems to stop occasionally, usually when the time code goes back to 00.00.00.00 ie after I have ended a session and started a new one. I haven't been able to do an 'advanced capture'yet as the application either goes into a loop, or on one occasion I got an error message saying that it coudn't capture because the "pins aren't connected"! Do I have a hardware problem, a video driver problem or an operator problem? Thanks for your help.
