If anyone is interested, I just did an unscientific comparison of captures from my Intensity Pro HDMI (older version with 1920/1080 max)
I used Resolve, Blackmagic Media Express, and Vegas. Previously my system was old and the only viable format was the MJPEG from Blackmagic Media Express.
With my newer system, I have options of QT DNXHD, QT uncompressed (Vegas will not open uncompressed QTs), and DPX from Resolve: MJPEG, AVI Uncompressed, and QT Uncompressed from Media Express: and HD422 MXF and AVI Uncompressed from Vegas. Since uncompressed makes huge files, I decided to compare the compressed available formats. I assumed the MJPEG from Media Express would be best quality since it is the most native to Blackmagic. But I was surprised. Now this is just a visual inspection, not scientific.
The Vegas MXF (and also the uncompressed AVI from Vegas) and the MJPEG matched the closest in saturation, brightness, and hue. The Resolve DNXHD was very slightly darker and more saturated than the other 3. The MJPEG seemed to have more compression grain than the other 3. All 3 formats were similar in file size, so with the options of using a compressed capture I was surprised to see that the MXF created by Vegas seemed to be the best quality and closest, from what I could tell, to the original source.
Just wanted to share.
