Capture with scene detection?

Vegas and other programs can capture from DV tape with automatic scene detection, splitting the capture into individual events. Is there anyway to do it in MS?

movie studio does this by default when capturing from dv tape, i believe. otherwise you can turn it on in the preferences in the capture program.

Be aware, the auto scene detection in Vegas and MS is based solely on the time/date stamp. It is not a content dectect (like Pinnacle or Scenalyzer).

In VidCap, click Options / Preferences / General. Checkmark Enable DV scene detection.
