Capturing Audio along with Video help please

1) When I first captured video, Vegas saved the audio and video as separate files. Now when I do it, both are captured within one file (in the media pool).
I don't think I changed any of the settings, but is there an option one can switch on and off to save audio in a separate file?

2) Once a video clip is on the timeline, with its associated audio, is there any way to de-link the video from audio?

Many thanks for your advice
Pierre

1) I've never seen this happen and didn't know it was possible. Why would you want this?

2) Select either the audio or the video event and press U to ungroup them.

Thanks for the tip on ungrouping.

Actually, capturing the audio and video as separate files is not something I would want but it happened to me the first time I captured some video clips, so I thought that was the way Vegas did things.
Then on the next project it captured the video and audio within the one file.

I thought I must have done something different but did not know what.

Thanks again
