ok im reposting here in the video forum because its a capturing problem i have;

real fast here is my set up
p4-1.7
256 mb ram
This is a clean win xp pro install only lynx L22 sound card, canopus acedvio capture, and my graphics card are in the system.

I have the latest drivers and patches installed Vegas is 5 .

When through the setup on the lynx sight;
http://www.lynxstudio.com/vegas4.html

Now the probelm;

Ok im posting here again because its exclusively a capturing problem im having with
Vegas 5 - Canopus ACEDVio - Lynx L22

during capture in the capture window when i select audio;
lynx record 1
lynx record 2 etc to 8
are listed but they are greyed out!

i get no audio at all during capture.
Lynx1 has a dot by it but its greyed out.

Tech support from Lynx assurse me they are ASIO drivers.

When i input the audio through the ACEDVio audio mini jack and select direct sound mapper i get audio but i need to use the lynx l22 for the input otherwise no need for it

I tried a small experiment and i can record audio in sound forge 7 at the same time but i cant capture audio at all. (no sound forge is never loaded when i capture normally)

if all else fails could i sync sound forge and vegas them import the audio from Sound forge into vegas as a work around? how would i do this? go easy im a newbie here. Thanks all,

Ward

Are you capturing video? If you are ( I think you are) then just feed everything into the Canopus, forget the soundcard entirely for the video capture process.

Capture window? Vegas doesn't have a capture window.

If you have selected the Lynx card ASIO drivers in the Vegas Audio Device prefs page, you will see what audio input devices are available. You can set your default input port there.

On the track you are recording audio to, you can select a different input port on the Lynx if you want to. You then arm the track and should record.

Are you saying that on the track that the Lynx input ports are greyed out?

"Capture window? Vegas doesn't have a capture window"

when i select capture video that capture program comes up that's the window im talking about.

Under preferences i select ASIO Lynx 22 drivers, then record lynx 1

however in the capture program (window) lynx 1 through 8 is greyed out and i get no audio during the capture.

Again i can record fine in sound forge 7 from these inputs. Is there some way i can sync the audio from sound forge to the video capture in vegas if i cant get this audio to be recorded during the video capture?

yes im capturing video. However i want to use the better A/D converters in the Lynx card for audio quality, i cant even find the specs on the converters used on the ACEDVio for A/D conversion.

Still looking for a way to sync sound forge 7 to vegas if thats my only option left
