Capturing from Panasonic NV-DX100

I wondered if anyone was capturing from a Panasonic NV-DX100 in Vegas 6? Whenever I try to use this camera (via firewire) Vegas and the capture interface slows to a crawl. It doesn't drop frames, but the interface becomes incredibly slow. Press a transport control button and there's a 10-20 second delay before the interface and camera responds so it's essentially impossible to navigate a tape via the program.

I have other capture programs on the same platform and they're fine with the NV-DX100.

I assume you mean the AG-DVX100 . . .

Does this happen every time? Do you have anything else running? What are your computer specs?

In short, there's no reason having to do with the DVX specifically that this should happen.

No, I mean the Panasonic NV-DX100. ;-)

Happens every time and I have nothing else running. Computer specs are in my profile but in short, I have 2 × AMD Opteron 280s, 4Gb of RAM, two SATA-II RAID arrays, etc, etc. running Windows XP Pro x64.

As I mentioned, the same camera is fine with other capture utilities on the same platform, only Vegas slows to a crawl.

I only asked about the "NV" thing because if it really was "NV," you might have a counterfeit. Not that I'm aware of any counterfeit DVX100s.

I've never had these problems capturing from my DVX, though I admittedly only do so sparingly. But I've captured enough to have navigated through them, etc., with no problems, on both my desktop and laptop systems.

NV-DX100 is the European model. It's different from the DVX in that DV input is disabled, as are several European models.
