Capturing live video and multiple audio tracks

Hello everyone,

I've been searching online for a while now and can't find a good solution to the following problem: I want to use Vegas (Pro 14) to capture from a single Video camera (SDI through a Blackmagic box) and at the same time record 8 separate audio tracks (8 microphones through a Focusrite audio Interface). I'm trying to avoid having to use 2 separate systems for audio an video and have to deal with the file copying and syncing that this entails. I read in some forums that Vegas should be able to do this, but no word on how it's done.

I know how to use the capture tool and how to record multiple audio tracks directly to the timeline. Can I do both things simultaneously? or somehow use capture to record the audio tracks? Does this work if I record 45 minutes uninterrupted??

Audio and Video need to be perfectly in sync.

I will be using Vegas mainly to mix the audio (like on a DAW, with VSTs and possibly some automation) and trim the video a bit (no cutting or editing), and then add titles and export to DVD Architect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jorge
