Capturing Problems

Hello,
I downloaded the trial of VMS 9 Platinum and made a single video for my church. I did mostly pictures, but did use video and captured it from a Sony GL1 camcorder. Had no problems.

After the trial, I decided to invest in the product and ordered it from Amazon. Now, since copying the files from the CD, I can no longer capture, using the same camera.

My OS is XP and I have gone to Dell to download updates to drivers and other applications that were recommended. Every time I have tried to capture, it freezes up. Once or twice it did recognize the camera and started the process, but then it froze and I had to close it.

I am very frustrated, as everything worked during the trial. I hope someone here has an answer that is relatively simple. This whole videography hobby is still so new to me. I am just now graduating from Windows Movie Maker. :-)
Thanks,
Jill

What are youusing to capture from your cam to HD?
I use a Canopus 110 and feed the footage in via firewire. How do you feed?
I too had the sam eproblem when I started with MSP 6.0.
I had to uninstall twicwe and reinstall with th disc.
I do all of my video for the church as well. Are you on staff?
We could trade notes.

I plug the camera in using a firewire cord.

I am not sure what that means. I am still a baby at this.

I guess I will have to resort to that.

I am not on staff. We are a small church and the media team usually handles audio and PowerPoint. This is a new hobby, as I also serve on the board of an outreach ministry.

Thanks for any help you can give me,
Jill

I'm pretty sure there is no such camera. Did you mean the Canon GL-1?
