Capturing Tracks From Optic DVD Drive

Can Vegas capture audio/video tracks from a commercial DVD?

Often there is a funny bit ,or great backbround music segments, which would be nice to insert in non-commercial (Private) programs.

No, Vegas can't, but there are literally hundreds of free programs that can.
