capturing video from CX700V to PC

What is the easiest way to "capture" "copy" etc... from my Sony CX700V to my PC. I am using, Vista home premium, 64bits, VMS platinum 9. I do not want to use the PMB software that came with the camera.
I am used to mini cassettes!!! firewire and all....
Now I have to deal with memory cards.
I would need "capturing 101" for memory cards camcorder !!!!
Thanks

Where is the video file on the cam? In the internal RAM or on a card in the card slot (either SD or Memory Stick)?

If internal, connect your cam with the USB cable included to a USB slot on your PC. You should be able to copy the video files using Windows Explorer to drag them to a folder on your PC hard drive.

If on SD or MS card, remove it from the cam and insert it into the card reader on your PC (assuming it has a SD or MS reader). Same as above, move using Windows Explorer.

Hint: Use the "Device Explorer" function in Vegas.
Note: This is not the same as "Windows Explorer".

My video is stored on the internal memory. 92GB available, after that I will use Lexar professional SDHC cards, 16 and 32GB, class 10.....
I managed to copy and paste my pictures from the internal memory.... to PC...
I did the same with the video, but I noticed that some of the video clips towards the last frames are either sluggish or the last frame is going backward!!! It might be something to do with the record/stop button, I will check if using the button on the camera rather than the one on the LCD screen will eliminate the problem.... The audio tracks are perfect though.
Musicvid, Where is the Device Explorer in VMS? is it the Explorer tab among Transitions, Trimmer, project Media etc.....?

Maybe
File->Import->AVCHD Camcorder?
Or whatever it is called on your particular version of Vegas.

none
Device: is blank at the moment....

I have no device attach at this moment....
