capturing widescreen video

how can i ensure that when i capture a widescreen video, the capture will maintain the correct perportion? Are there preferences that i'm not seeing in the capture window?

If you are capturing a standard definition widescreen, the settings are not important. The only time settings are an issue is when playing it back.

In this case, have your project properties set up for DV Widescreen.
