Catastrophic failure in Capture

I received the following message, see below, in Version 7.0b (Build 151) I am using a Sony HVR-M15U. Vegas thinks that it is capturing, but it really isn't. I have to ctrl-alt-del and use the task manager to stop vegas. I think this is a bug.... either in Vegas or in the HVR-M15U.

Any ideas?????? Thanks... Jon

Are you using the correct capture method i.e. Internal Capture?

If that's not the problem, does it work OK in 6.0b?

My M15U is working OK in 6.0b for both HDV and DV.

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday while trying to capture some FX1 footage.....

Yes, everything seems to be set correctly.
No, I never used it in 6 only now in 7.

Also, it appears that I cannot mark in and out timecode points. Is this another problem or is this inherent with this type of capture?

Have you ever tried HDVSplit? I'd be curious to see if there was some failure point with that software, too. At least then we'd know more about just where the fault was.

It's a free utility and it works great. In fact, many are using it exclusively because it offers advantages over the Vegas capture utility.

HDVSplit worked great! Must be a problem in Vegas.
