CC Changing Positional Frame ? Why?

Grazie wrote on 5/23/2006, 11:49 PM
All observed within PREVIEW. Try this out:

1/- VeloEnvel an Event. Nothing small, got mine set at 300%

2/- Copy/Paste a previous Colour Corrected ATTRIBUTE to this Event.

3/- Without moving Cursor, I'm seeing a "positional" Frame change. Meaning, PRIOR to applying CC Attrib guy is bending down POST application of Attribute guy is standing up? Weird?

Q: Does this mean that applying an ATTRIB ( the Copy/Paste Attribute thing ) is adjusting the underlying frame/event length? If so .. whoaaa . . . . perhaps it is only NOW that I am seeing this with a 300% VeloEnvel . . ?

Somebody please check this out and proffer some sage direction on the matter?

TIA,

Grazie

Let's see if I can help translate British into English :)

You have a clip on the T/L and at a certain frame number the person in the shot is bending down. You copy and paste the CC attibute from another clip onto this clip and at the same frame number the guy is standing up.

It could be that the guy's got such a fright from his skin changing color no wonder he stood up quicker.

But seriously I think the clue might be that you also have a 300% velocity envelope applied. I'd suspect that applying the CC (or any FX) has forced the frames to be rendered. Bear in mind that when you apply velocity to a clip the T/L is no longer correct, that's why I always render any velocity changes to a new clip to avoid confusion.

As always, Bob, thank you for your patience and understanding. G

Did you use "paste event attributes"?
Maybe the original clip had velocity or time stretch - so those were also copied?

Copy/Paste a previous Colour Corrected ATTRIBUTE to this Event

Pasting event attributes pastes EVERYTHING, not just the fX. Pan crop, velocity envelopes, etc. If you only want to past the fX, you need to go to the original event (the one with the fX), create a preset, then go to the event that has the velocity envelope, apply the CC, and then use your preset. A lot more steps, but you'll get what you want.

John, yes. I've spent the best part of 2 hours chasing my tail .. . I had stupidly copy/pasted various CCs. It is a small section and it was only I rendered out the 10 minutes which includes maybe 2 mins of CC work that NOT only had I messed with the CC by C/Ping but for some reason, only KNOWN to myself, I had actually "lodged" a bunch of CCs within the TRACK!!

Anyways . . back on . .track . . AND I'm following your sage advice. Presets, presets, presets. I've done all this before .. . Brain fade .. now into my 14th hour today . . I'll get this done and call it a day - I think!

John, appreciate you being there . .
