CD Architect won't load "Unable to write to temp . . ."

I purchased and downloaded CD Architect. After anxiously awaiting it's arrival I was terribly disappointed when it wouldn't open! I've got windows XP and I'm getting the following error message: "Unable to write to the temp directory in C:\Documents and Settings\(my name)\Local Settings\Temp\." Someone help me! Please give me detailed instructions on fixing this as I'm not a computer wiz.

It sounds like your login does not have permission to write to that folder. Be sure you are logged in as Administrator, or your account has Administrator permissions when you install CD Architect. Also make sure you have some space available on your C: drive.

Thanks Sonic. I am logged on as administrator, I've got space on my C drive still no luck. But I'm not sure how to check if my account had administrator permissions when I downloaded CD Architect.

Control Panel > Users

Also, make sure that directory exists.

Thanks again. But still no luck. I'm on as an administrator (I'm the only user). The directory does exist. I even created another temp folder in the appropriate spot to make sure. Each time I get the same message: Unable to write to temp directory in C:\Documents and Settings\(my name)\Local Settings\Temp\.

How can I change the routing on the program?

If you start the application with Ctrl and Shift held down, it will reset your prefs, but the temporary path will very likely point to that same place. It's worth trying, though. How much free space in at that location?
