CD Burn Progress Not updated - Burn OK

Hi,

I've just begun using Vegas 3.0b for burning audio CDs. I find it curious that the status dialog doesn't update itself for most of the burn? The Dialog shows status at the beginning saying "Writing Lead-in" and goes to 100%. Then for the rest of the burn it just sits there and doesn't show any other progress until the end when it says the disc burn without errors. So far all my burns have come out perfectly.

On another note, I have a Sony 24X (model 175E) that is rated for 24X CD-R. The audio cd preferences only show 12x and max burn speeds. Does Vegas burn at 12x or 24x with this drive?

Thanks.

I have noticed the same thing. Progress on lead-in and lead-out here, but the actual burn does not show progress. All burns at the end have turned out great. Maybe the next update will fix this progress view.
Using HP 200I DVD and CD.

There was another thread about this recently. I was working with another guy who was experiencing CD burning troubles that were a bit different, but definitely related. Our engineers have been made aware of these problems and they will be addressed in a future update.

Thanks for the response, Ted.
I have one other minor problem to report to
take to the programmers for the next update.
Whenever an audio CD is compiled and a 2 second gap must
be inserted between each track using the method in the user manual, INSERT/TIME,
put in the 2 seconds for the redbook cd gap, then ok, - about
half of the time the gap is not inserted. On the second
execution of the same set of commands the gap is always inserted.
I find myself usually using the command over the second time to get the
2 second gap. I have inserted the time differently and still get the same
result.
HP 200i, 10 to 18 tracks per audio CD.
Thanks,

jpresley, i've noticed that occasionally to with Vegas in general, not just for preparing an audio CD. I'll enter an amount of time to be inserted, and only 1 or 0 frames are inserted. So i type in the time again, and then the whole amount gets inserted. It doesn't happen often enough to be a real problem, but it has been often enough that i'm sure it's not me doing something wrong.
