CD Text

I sent the message below to Sonic Foundry Support re: CD Text; see their reply following my message.

MY MESSAGE:

Is there an update to CD Architect to add CD Text capabilities in the works?
If so, is there an estimated release date? Thanks.

THEIR RESPONSE:

Thanks for writing.

Unfortunately there is not currently an update that will allow this
functionality, nor am I aware of any plans at this time to incorporate this,
however if you would like to see this in the future, please let us know at
our product suggestion page here:

I submitted my request also. I called them about this last week and their advise was to use Nero...go figure.

Yeah, this is really a shame. For burning, when I do need CD text, I do use Nero just for this reason. In my vehicle, I have a head unit with a touchscreen display and it supports CDtext. A lot of times when I master something, I burn everything onto CDR and Listen to it in my vehicle for about a week. Within the CD text I'll make notes, so I can remember which version of the mix I'm listening too otherwise I'm printing a cue sheet and have to keep reflecting back to that. I also use this alot, when making my own personal library of music for listening. There's no need for me to make any graphics, so I can remember the name of a song, it's all displayed on my vehicle head unit when I play it back. This is really a drag because, I use Sound Forge, and Vegas for my mastering needs, and I don't have an option for CD text, even with the NEW CD architect.

I must agree with you guys. CD text should be a part of CDA5. Most certainly a programing oversite if you ask me.

This really needs to be addressed. I bought CDA so I could create full functioning music CDs, but this absence of CD-Text must be remedied immediately.

Oh you certainly can make "full-functioning music CDs", as per the Red Book specification. CD-TEXT is beyond Red Book. Yes, it would be nice.
