Hi Cin. Did you add track markers between your tracks or set a track region?

Play with the different types of Track markers available under the main menu INSERT; or read the in program Help to know how to use them better.

Without these markers some or most (I never found a list) CD players have no way of knowing where one track stops and the next one starts. They just see a continuous sound signal if the tracks are flush one against the other.

NOTE: Some people will tell you to check 'include markers' when you're rendering your work, but with only Audio CD Tracker Region (N) markers and/or Audio CD Track Index (Shift + N) markers in your project, that check box will be unavailable.

I'm not familiar with the Studio version, but if you have a "Disc at Once" option you should use that instead. You'll get a more compliant disc that will work better in a wider range of players. Also, if you ever have continuous music that spans a track marker, "Track at Once" will leave a gap at the track change where "Disc at Once" will be continuous.

In the future Cin, this can be automated by putting your audio events end-to-end (or with spaces) and then selecting TOOLS > Layout audio CD from events, which is way kewl! This will pull in the clip's information and name the regions automatically.

Thanks Kelly, could have used that answer 6 da*m discs earlier!!! ;) I finally stumbled across that after I tried everything under the sun! I manually put in the markers as Doc suggested at the start of different songs, but I didn't put one at the beginning of the first, and that seemed to mess it up too. 6 da*m times......... ;) So, when I put the marker at the very beginning and used Disc at once as you said, it worked.
Thanks for the original help Doc, and thanks for the follow up. I just threw a couple of songs on the time line and tried your second tip, and that seems like that does everything stated above, except more automatically. :) Thanks again for everyone's help, can't believe 2 hours and '6 da*m discs' to make one lousy music CD! ;0 Cin
