I'd like to know this product is still being developed. There are a few simple but critical features (long since implemented in Sound Forge) that need to be added, or else I will have to begrudgingly migrate to another product. Is there chance of an update this year?
I remember hearing somewhere that there may be an update coming, but it may be minor. In fact I think it was the Vista support added in 5.2b197 a few months ago.
Main 'major' lackings IMO.
1 - CD image file writing (ISO and DDP) to avoid an inevitable set of write and read errors from every mastered CD before dup/replication.
2 - Switching off of plugins in events not being previewed, so realtime preview is possible with 'heavy' plugins on multiple individual events.
I would greatly appreciate being able to save the complete session as a 24 bit file. DDP sounds wonderful, but I can understand if that is deemed to 'high end' for this product. It would also be great to have a third audio layer. And additional dither options...
CDA is definitely not the high end. What I really want are POW-R dither options, which I have yet to find in any directX plugin option. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
So POW-R dither would make it hi-end ? And no DX plugins are hi-end either then. Are there no dither options available in CDA, or plugins that are hi-end enough for you ?
Sorry, please don't take this as an attack on CDA, I love it and have used it for years. I just don't think it is in the same ballpark as Sequoia or Sadie, nor is it trying to be. I am just naming some features that would make it more usable given my present needs. I want to continue to use this software.
I presently use a 3rd party application called 'premaster' by Colin Hill that does allow you to make wav/cue images, and find it very useful. If that would help anyone here and you cannot find the program, let me know.
Really? That would be very useful, can you tell me how to do it directly? You can create a CUE file in CD architect that other burning programs can read directly?
(I don't mean a human-readable cuesheet, I mean something that nero or toast can open)
