I managed to get it installed and working in XP(RC1).
I had to install both CDA as a plugin from its own CDROM and then SF4.5XP from its CDROM. I had to un-install and then re-install both programs several times
changing the order of each to make XP finally accept and properly install and run both programs. I could not get CDA to successfully install on its own. I needed to install SF4.5XP separately from its own CD ROM and then intall CDA after that. Odd thing, I did this without ever having to invoke the XP compatibility mode. But, I do have it working properly and burning CD's in XP right now and that is all that matters.

did you simply uninstall both programs and keep installing in different order to get it to work?

(I don't want to have to reinstall xp to start fresh if need be).

I'm on XP pro and would really like to get CDA working.

Thanks!

"did you simply uninstall both programs and keep installing in different order to get it to work?"

Yes, that is correct. I first attempted to install
from the CD Architect CDROM, but once installed it would not open. I tried the XP "Compatibility Mode" to no avail. So I then tried to install SF4.5XP onto XP and it worked perfectly, but CD Architect still would not open. I uninstalled and then re-installed CD Architect, still a no go. I then took SF4.5XP and CD Architect completely off my machine. I then re-installed SF4.5XP first and then CD Architect(I beleive as a plugin @ install) and now I have a standalone SF4.5XP installed, along with with another copy of SF4.5XP with CD Architect as a plugin. I am now able to burn CD'S from XP with CD Architect 4.0g.
I never did have to use the XP "Compatibility Mode" to finally get it to work either. Maybe I got just got lucky :)

I need help with this too, please.
I have the CDA 4.0 disc. I'm not sure there is a standalone SF4.5XP on it. I've tried different options without success. My disc includes:
1AutoDetect CDA plugin or XP standalone
2CDA plugin
3CDA standalone
4SF update.
With choice 4 I get an error saying I need an existing version before I can update.

Do you have these same options on your disc and if so, which options do you use in what order? I'm thinking I don't have a standalone SF4.5 on this disc.

thanks

Choice three worked for me. The progam has made several CD's in XP. 50+ sounding good.
