CFF Coding for Vegas Movie Studio 10

Hey forum,
I need a little help with an issue I've been trying to fix for a few months now. I'm having memory issues that I think require me to change the program files to accept higher files than 2gb. I found a thread on the forum detailing the process for Vegas Pro, but I think the steps need to be a bit different for Movie Studio users. I can't seem to find the right files to change the specs on. Can I get some help with it. I'm posting the URL of the other forum post at the end of the message.

Thanks a lot,
V-Sketch TV

Here's the VMS9 thread:

It may apply to VMS10 as well.

Oh man, thanks MSmart! You're a lifesaver! :)

You're welcome. However, I just posted the link, david_f_knight did all the hard work (or most of it anyway).

Thanks MSmart for the acknowledgement, but I give blink3times most of the credit. He figured it out for Vegas Pro 8 on 64-bit versions of Windows, and then I helped by extending that solution for 32-bit versions of Windows, but there was some help from others along the way, too.

Thanks everyone! I'm currently rendering a movie in Bluray quality that would normally crashed within 5 seconds. Can't wait to see the finished project in Bluray Quality. :D

Good luck!

By the way, to avoid confusion later on, the subject of this thread references Vegas Movie Studio 10, which was just released June 8, 2010. As far as I know, that version does not have this HD rendering bug. I assume from your previous description (i.e., that you've had this problem for months), that you really have Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum. Could you confirm that for us? I don't want readers to think there's a problem in version 10 unless it is really there.

Well, I had the issue for a while on Vegas 9, but then got Vegas 10 to see if it would fix the issues. It didn't unfortunately.

Yep, the 10 minute Bluray video is working perfectly. Thanks!

Just to be clear, you have VMS10 and applied the CFF fix that was use on VMS 9 and now VMS is working better?

I am having low memory warning problem when rendering an 8 minutes 720p file to wmv format and was wondering if the CFF fix is needed. It doesn't have any rendering problem when I chose Sony .mp4 720p internet video. System spec is 8gig memory and AMD Phenom X4 processor.

I just did the CFFExplorer fix for VMS 10 even though I am not sure it is needed.

So far so good. I was able to render 4 minutes of 1080p 24Mbits/sec that I shot with my Canon Vixia HFS 10 to 1080p .wmv, 1080p .mp4. 1080p .avc(1920x1080i bluray at 16Mbits/sec. I did not get the low memory warning like I did before.

It did not fix the random black clip that I get with .mov files from my Kodak Playsport but I am happy with the Windows Live Movie Maker workaround.

I will change the same .dll files in DVD architect and Sound Forge files too in a couple of days if I am sure the fix help to fix the low memory error while rendering.

I did the fix for VMS9 and it worked for me (I have Win7-64.) When I upgraded to VMS10 I did not apply the fix and I have never had a crash. And all my work is with 1920x1080 AVCHD files with Blu-Ray quality output.
