cfhd.dll and COM SURROGATE error

running vista ultimate, and vegas 8b...
the codec im using is cfhd.dll (for HDV) it says it is version 2.8... (AVI)
i can play the file fine, audio and video great, but no thumnail, and it causes a COM SURROGATE error every time i refresh the folder that hte file is in... i have had this happen in the past with certain codecs....
i read the change log on cineform, there is mention that it fixes this... is there an update available to us vegas users? a connect HD update?

just curious if anyone else has experienced this....
thanks
pj

EDIT: and yes, i made sure to delete the extra cfhd.dll file... the current cfhd.dll file is version 2.8.7.148

I have encountered the com surrogtate error before. IT is caused by the preview thumbnail generator that vista uses - and has often been down the the indeo codec, oddly enough. I installed klite codec pack, and all was fixed

i have klite installed as well...

it only happens with the cineform HD codec....

hmm, oh well
i dont render to HD much at all... (ever really)
so, not a biggie, just thought others would have this problem and it would be an easy fix...

thanks
