You can't change or delete the stock templates. You can make your own modifications and save them as one ones.

Thanks for the response Chienworks.
I know you cant change or modify them readily....but surely they must exist somewhere buried deep within the program files?
Where might that be I wonder?

They could be coded right in.

The big question is why would you want to change them. Making a custom template allows the exact same thing.

Why would I want to change them?
I have been trying for a while now to burn a UFF (or Progressive) DVD with chapter markers straight from the timeline.
The Burn Disc option in Tools gives you no choice, its just 25i LFF which really degrades the files from my Sony Z5.
I couple of times a year I do Eisteddfods ... hundreds of DVDs with the same leader and credit, just different kids in one or multiple dances.
Yes, I can export to DVD Architect, but the amount of mouse clicks involved is huge compared to three-
Tools - Burn Disc - Go
Would really save some time.

Ok, then it should support multiple templates. I searched online and found that 25p isn't an officially supported DVD format, just the two interlaced standards, so that's most likely why it's not there: less chance it will work. Which is why I assume they don't allow templates because it's meant to burn DVD's in the spec and they'd rather field the one question about templates in several years vs "why doesn't the DVD I burned from the timeline work" every week.

In another thread you mentioned that you make duplicates of your discs in the 50-100 range. I do that too. Is that what you're using this for? I've done tests and DVD's rendered out from Vegas, authored in DVDA & burned in Nero had a much lower rejection rate by players then burning from Vegas or DVDA. If you're doing lots of duplicates I personally see it as worth the extra time.

Yes, I see the reasoning with the no 25p because its not in the spec.... but it would be good to have an UFF option since prob 95% of people now capture in HD which is UFF or Progressive and swapping fields really does soften the video.

I do do concerts where I duplicate the DVDs, but this work is entirely different, as mentioned, hundreds of discs that are all different, for individual performers. Another 10 mouse clicks, changing windows etc is just too long.
Each disc via Burn disc might take 30 seconds, via export to DVDA might be a minute.
A weeks work as compared to two weeks work.... Its worth it.

This is bad, Im sounding like one of those guys that annoy me and I just think "Get over it".
But, It shouldn't be so hard, the templates exist somewhere in Vegas, even if they are hard coded in. Can someone with coding experience point me in the right direction? Do I need a hex editor?
Thanks for any input.
cheers

Reverse engineering of software that is copyrighted is against the law. You can not and should not do it!!

Besides, when we say coded into the software program app, it is not a matter of finding a parameter in some pocket holder and just changing its value - that is fairly inane. By coded what the programmer has set up is a number of variables, global, and local which spell out what goes where.
Create your user template and save it to your heart's content - that is there for a reason.
