change sd veg to hd?

have a couple of 'dummy' veg's that i downloaded - they're in ntsc sd 29.9, and i'd like to use them in a hd production. what's the best way of converting them?

since they basically contain media generated 'slots', will simply dropping new media, either titles or footage convert them?

in particular, i have a veg called 'brady bunch', can't remember who created it, but it's perfect for a project i'm working on - problem is it's 4:3, is there any easy way of converting to 16:9, or is a matter of resizing all frames....

as ever, tia

I think it requires nothing more than changing the project properties. All generated media should conform to the project properties.
If the .veg contains media that doesn't conform to the project / final render then Vegas will conform it as per usual. Replacing the media with conforming media would remove the need for Vegas to resample / scale the media.

Hope that's:

a) Correct
b) Makes some sort of sense.

The only caveat I could think of is if using Event / Track pan/crop. You might need to check that one out carefully if the scaling / cropping values were based on a certain media size / aspect ratio.

Generated media retains the properties from when it was created. So, if you add a title to a 4:3 project, then set project properties to 16:9, the title will still be 4:3. I haven't found any easy way around this other than to visit each generated media event and update it's properties manually.
