changing font color

I'm using VMS ver. 9 build 33 to build some video clips to be shown on our church's projector system. I'm adding text overlays to photos of flowers. Every now and then the font colors that I select look fine on my computer monitor with the flower for that video clip, but on the projection screen, the colors don't contrast enough to be easily readable and I have to redo the font colors. Is there a way to make a trackwide change of text events, without going in and manually changing the text color for each event.?

What I have to do is edit the metadata file before the post process batch runs.

Yes, copy the first event - select the next one and shift click on the last to select all of them and do a Paste Event Attributes to apply the color/attributes from the first to the rest.

Colors not showing the same on the projection screen as compared to the PC monitor is a common problem.

Another idea going forward is just to put an outline around your text. It doesn't have to be fancy or thick or blurred--just black.

I have learned this trick after re-doing text over and over again. But if you use an outline, the colors don't matter anymore.

Doesn't work. Attributes pasted this way are keyframes, pitch shifts, etc.
Text color isn't mentioned in the help menu for pasting attributes. Anything else I can try?

No suggestion for blanket text color change, but I will add my support of adding a black edge to all your text in the future. That way even if the color is similar to the backgound .. the text will stil be readable.

Seriously odd thought ...

Track 1 : solid white text with black background
Track 2 : solid color generated media
Track 3 : video

Set the compositing mode on track one to Mask / Multiply. The solid color on track 2 will now fill the text on track 1 with the video showing through behind the letters. Now one single change to the generated media event on track 2 changes the color of all the text all at once.

I did some playing around with it and found a work around. Use one of the texts that have a transparent background(such as default text). Use a black border around each letter as was suggested. Then apply a track fx to the text track and choose Sony HSL adjust. Play with each of the three sliders until you get a text color that looks good on the video. Each text event will then have the same updated color scheme. Thanks for all of your replies.
